Woolstore theatre will not be opening it’s doors for monthly drinks as it’s Easter day.

Friday 25th

Commemorating ANZAC day with an open air service at the Anzac cemetery. A marching contingent of veterans will meet outside the Anzac cemetery just before 06:30, and will be joined by a group of representatives from the village, from the Australian and New Zealand High Commissions, to take part in an open air service in the cemetery lasting 30 minutes. Service is open to all. Breakfast is available afterwards in Codford village hall. Tickets are available from Budgens from 18th April.

Codford and district gardening club and talk titled ‘Unusual plants available to british gardens’. The guest speaker will be Roger Hirons.

Roger, aka the plant doctor, trained at Pershore college and has a wealth of plant knowledge. He is a published author, worked in plant nurseries, run garden centres and owns his own design and landscaping business.

An afternoon coach trip for members to see the gardens of ‘The hospital of St Cross and the almshouses of he Noble poor in Winchester. The hospital was founded circa 1134 by Henry of Blois.

Dr Burroughs is a lecturer and after dinner speaker of some renown and in high demand. From the castles built in the middle ages to the 1930 semi. The front garden has always provided an area for display and eccentricity. Here is a celebration of some of the most memorable and stunning examples of english gardening.

Gill lives in Salisbury, is a speaker with the national association of flower arrangements societies. She has a particular interest in art history, has studied at Sparsholt college and has been a guide at Salisbury cathedral for many years. She will tell us all about the familiar flowers and trees depicted in the unearthed document!
