Codford Ladies Circle AGM: Heather Earley

The Ladies Circle is modeled somewhat on the Women’s Institute in that they meet regularly but there the similarity ends. Our meetings feature a variety of speakers who cover all sorts of interesting topics, especially during the Winter months.

When Summer rolls around, we love to explore different places around Wiltshire and sometimes even venture further afield. Once a month, we always treat ourselves to breakfast at a new venue, and during Christmas, we enjoy a festive meal together. We also participate in the Annual Village Fete, which helps us raise funds for our trips and speakers.

With a subscription of just £5 a year, we warmly invite anyone new to the village or those with some free time to join our friendly group of ladies. It’s a wonderful way to meet local villagers and enjoy some delightful company once a month!

Meetings are on the second Wednesday of the month, and we have a cake stall at the village fete.

The AGM for the Ladies Circle of Codford was held on 8th January 2025 in the small room at the Village Hall. The meeting was well attended with fifteen people in person and three apologies. The decision was taken to continue with the Ladies Circle with Jenny Hunt as Chairman and Elizabeth Gwynn as Treasurer. Ruth Foster to organize the Village Fete and Heather Earley articles for the community website.

Many locations were discussed for visits including: Roche House, Montacute House, The Lakes, Lacock, Heal Gardens, The Bustards, and The Hawk Conservancy.

It was decided to miss a meeting for February 2025 hence the next meeting will be for Breakfast at the Hillside café, Codford on March 12th at 9:00 am.

The Wilton Garden Center talk on Spring and Summer bedding to include tea/coffee and cake – 9 th April at 3:00 pm, cost to be £9.50
